Skunk Of Ages

Sat 10/29 7am: Late in the day today best c-front spots will have waves. By Sunday the wind goes NE and it’s flat again. Check it late. have a great day…

Fri 4pm: Power is back on. Sorry for forecasting good surf for this week. I should have seen that coming. You just think you can believe the models and the NHC when it’s inside 48 hours. Climatologically speaking, channel swells in late October are not that common. Rina was set up to do the deal but got dry air entrained and sheared apart. Figures, this late in the year the upper air conditions get hostile quick for hurricanes. The only chance for surf now is late Saturday. Maybe look at the cams for your cold front spots. The last two hours before dark could see ridable windswell at N County. I’m pretty confident about that but then I was pretty confident about Rina also. Everyone is a wreck after this week. Keep your chin up. Hopefully it will be a good winter.
Going to be doing a daily report from Rincón, PR for a bit. check it out

Wed am forcast track.

Dudes relax…..small long period swell should hit us Friday and early Saturday if the wind holds off, it might not be the kind but it should get you lifted

The tropical storm is now forecast to spin in the YUC until Sunday with something else possibly morphing below Rina

The channel buoy is still big enough to send a long board wave out -anything can happen, check the incoming tides

13 hrs to arrive from 42003. Biggest ping was 4.3’@10sec at 3:50pm. Low tide tomorrow is 7:15am high is 2:30pm. Winds 5-10 from the e – ne.

There’s still a snowball’s chance. Too bad I snapped my fish last week in 2.5 foot gulf swell.

North Pinellas super small at super low tide. Buoys are on the decline, if you didn’t catch a wave this morning …you missed it. I would’ve paddled out for anything on the log and I didn’t paddle out. SKUNK!

Caught some really fun knee high long period peelers in Pinetown on the incoming this morning for @ 3 hrs & then the last 2 hrs before dark. It wasn’t anywhere near what I or anyone expected, but still fun & stoke still intact.

Check out my new website: http://www.ihatethegulf.com It’s a comprehensive site of gulfcoast flatness, complete with a sexxxy seagull page and daily tourist outlook. Was thinking about perhaps offering sting ray shuffling tips, and a sun block forum … if all this sounds negative, it’s because I basically feel this way right now. Need a ticket out of this place …
