Saturday Update Below…

Good weekend to go sidewalk surfing.

The Only Boat Trip I’ll Get to Go On- Surfing Fajardo, PR.
Our family had been under a lot of stress from the earthquakes and other things going on so we planned a weekend away to have a little vacation on the island here. We went to the northeast corner of Puerto Rico. I have a buddy named Sam in the English congregation in Fajardo and he had been begging me to go out on the boat with him to surf some rarely surfed spots on the northeast side. I finally got it together and we took the boat out and went all through these spots on the northeast corner of the island(the swell was NNW 4-6ft at 12 seconds, from Winter Storm Iguana, the same one that made epic surf for Miami). You cannot access these NE PR surf spots by car. You either have to walk in (which is a very long walk) or take a boat and that’s what we did. It was super fun I would compare the wave to Monster Hole but Island style- head high to a couple feet over head and super long lefts with light winds(no trades from the front in the area). We just surfed until our arms were noodles until I couldn’t surf anymore. We had a blast. My buddy Ross was here from New Hampshire and he went with us and we all got great waves. So cool to be able to do a boat trip close to home.

Our host Sam scoping the lineup. This spot was so undeveloped and beautiful.

This guy was a local, friendly and shredding the waves.

Headed back to the ramp, surfed out.

Saturday WFL 6am Report: Weak low pressure is near LA this am. The GOMEX is super calm. 098 is .3ft, great day for boating. High pressure backs against the low making for SE winds tomorrow in the gulf. Sunday looks 1/2ft to 1ft, same with Monday. Things get real weird next week as multiple lows bump around the gulf. Nothing stands out for surf until next weekend when a banger sweeps it all out into the ATL. That’s the way it looks today. Have a great weekend, Sector 9 weekend, grab 1 from the Compound!

Hahah Micah. Yeah Russ I’m stoked to hear that. A little core exercise and mobility training will go a long way! The zoo got kinda big classic gc around 1pm. Then got funky. Excited for the next round. Thanks as Always Micah. Can’t imagine not having you as the go to source !!! We appreciate it!!

EC was pumping. Caught a massive overhead scary barrel ride and made it out, wow. 1 broken leash, good thing had the back up with me today. So fun…

It was hard to watch the East Coast event through the Surfline cams. Man was it firing over there! I surfed yesterday(Tue) for 2 hours by myself. Waist high sets pushing the LB through to the sand for some long rides and occasional steep section. Winter/Fall is treating me well so far and stoked on the forecast!

Fun thigh to waist high glass for the longboard just before sunset yesterday. Besides breaking my fin box in half and losing my fin on the last ride, it was a great session. Keep your eyes open at Sand Key. You may get a free fin. 🙂

Small waves feathering through the mid section and dumping on the inside in Sarasota this am. Hoping to score again this afternoon ?

Really fun at the Zoo this morning for dawn patrol. I was surfing my fattest floaty fish and it was the perfect choice for the waves on hand. Only a small handful of people out too.

Decided to surf Sunset versus SK as I had family stuff after 2pm. Knee high from 11 to 1 when I was out. The occasional waist high set. I figured N county would have more push. Ready for more!

Did we lose 098? I hope she’s ok! Also, my favorite cam is now pointed towards the sand. Going to check it after I drop the kid off at school anyways. Gotta be something out there still!

thanks for the reports guys! 98 is down- it was spotty then went down. hopefully they fix it soon… if anyone checks the NDBC maintenance report let us know thanks

I use SVJ cam, Spring Ave and Sunset cam… 3 counties. if 98 stays down use 99 and subtract a foot or 2

thanks for the reports guys. (thanks to Russ-D for posting those shots!)seems gulfster does not have as many pics lately only if its really good so we appreciate the reports some times a description is better than a photo.

Haliewa was a complete bummer! expecting swell kellys heat went flat and mush. I thought that only happened on the GOMEX or Rincon PR! The mighty N Pacific went silent at the worst time. Leo and Kelly lost!

Scored the spot in the pic above with some nice lil sliders rolling through. I saw some peaks a mile to the north and paddled over to score even better walls peeling down the shallow sandbar. Definitely fading away now.I hope 098 is back up soon. Is the bump on surfline this weekend for real?

Scored this morning. Couldnt believe how good it was! Surfed perfect thigh to waist high barrels by myself all morning! The spot doesnt even break that often happy holidays everyone

Knee to thigh this evening in St Pete. A ton of guys out. Warm air and water. My girl will get her pics on Gulfster ASAP. Tomorrow should be chunky fun. Stoked the forcast stuck!!!

Some solid swell with west in it hitting the beach in Sarasota with gusty NNW wind on it. 3 drifts, 3 waves with the macking current but some gems to be had out there! Gonna hit it again this afternoon and hoping tomorrow am delivers. Looks cold! Get some boys & girls! ?

On my way to dawn patrol The Zoo. It was super fun out there yesterday afternoon. I haven’t looked at what the tides are doing, yet. I hope it isn’t clam digger tides. click my name, it’s a link to my website, to see yesterday’s pics. ??‍♂️?

  14. tubetime

Caught some fun clean waves in the thigh-high range with no one out. It was definitely worth the paddle out this AM. Tide was still dropping and did get super low as I left 8:45.

  15. RUSS-D

The Zoo had a small window of really fun waves first thing this morning. Only 5 of us out and having a blast. And then it started to get inconsistent. After a bit you could tell the swell was fading and the tide dropping wasn’t helping it at all. Fun enough for a vacation day surf.

Ridiculously good low tide session this am in SRQ! It was lully at times but when the sets came through, chest high fast wide open barrels. Logged some time in the tube and got slammed in the sand plenty as well.
