Friday 10am update: Venice maybe has a knee high set, it might be desperately longboardable.

Friday 10am update: Venice has a knee high set, it might be desperately longboardable.

8am Friday Update:
In the Egmont Channel the waves are NW 3.6ft at 6 seconds, why is it so small? Looks maybe knee high, hope it comes up later but at of 8am it’s tiny in Venice. What happened from the original call until now? Some stupid low pressure over southern Mexico is pulling the front backdoor so not a good push and then offshore winds=tiny waves, sorry.

6am Friday 12/9 DP WFL Surf Report: Outside buoy is 5ft, inside is almost 4ft N and NW, NNE winds at 15, desk guess is best spots should be knee to thigh with a low tide. Looking for those spots that get something off a hard north when everything on the horizon looks headed for Cuba and most places are 1ft or flat there are a couple spots that should have a clean north line today and that’s where you want to bee if your going to get some surf today. Tide does not look to come in very much maybe late today after lunch. I hope you find some fun waves, it’s been a good week! I will try and update later… Note: I said yesterday if the Texas Low had been stronger that there would have been more tubes and a bunch of my buddies replied saying that Wednesday was a barrel fest, I believe it, some of these sand bars love 8 seconds from the west.
If your throwing around money at starbucks, etc throw some loose change this way, donate on the right, generosity is cool…

Sunday 6am WFL aurasurf.com official call(this forecast has been updated and tweaked but will not change unless the models say otherwise): This week is looking good. 1005mb low forecast to move out of the western gulf on Monday. The gradient could make a knee to thigh south line at best south facers late Monday. So the very best south swell spots could even see a ridable line late Monday before dark, not a lock but worth a look. Tuesday looks like SSW swell coming up from Cuba/possibly Yucatan in the pm, maybe small in the am but building during the day, best south swell spots could easily be waist to chest by Tuesday afternoon. There is a chance after the rain on Tuesday that the winds could lay down in the afternoon making for solid swell and favorable winds late Tuesday. Wednesday looks knee to waist high slowly fading SW swell at the best spots with light N winds, the DP could be good at the best spots. Thursday looks small as we wait for the cold front, still late Thursday best cold front spots could get knee to thigh high N lines as the Polar front moves thru. Friday looks cold, knee to waist high cold front day with hard angled NNW swell with NNE winds. Wind chills in the 40’s and 50’s, (see the Compound for new rubber and gear). Saturday is flat with a quick turn around to return flow as the pattern speeds up. Note: This is perfectly CLIMO and the model runs have been locked in day after day.
